NMM 2081 is a barred olivine (BO-type) micrometeorite with a large platinum-group element (PGE) nugget. The presence of these elements indicates that this spellbinding micrometeorite was forged in a supernova event.
Traveling to us from outside of our solar system, this extraordinary cosmic gift reminds us of how rare and precious we are.
From a supernova, with love!
